Help Welcome Prospective Families To Jones!

We need your support to welcome prospective students and their families to the Jones community at our upcoming Open House on Saturday, October 24th.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our school's spirit and strength--and we can't do it without you! Parent volunteers play a key role in making this event a success. We're looking for help with the following roles:

Joneswear Store Volunteers: Help sell spirit wear and help families find the perfect Jones gear.
Greeters/Parent Reps: Be a friendly face! You'll help guide visitors, answer questions, and share your valuable perspective as a current Jones parent. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the school (inside & outside).
Ushers: Help seat families in the South Auditorium for the Principal Presentation.
Food Attendant: Keep volunteers fueled during the Open House by helping distribute pizza and keeping beverages stocked.

WHEN: Saturday, October 24th, 2026

TIME: 1st Shift: 9:15AM - 12:30 PM; 2nd Shift: 12:15PM - 3:15PM

ABC7 Friday Flyover: Vote for Jones!

After Jones students, staff, administration, and parents/guardians came out in force at 4 AM to show-off their school spirit, voting has finally begun for the ABC7 Friday Flyover winner!

VOTING OPENS: Monday, October 19 at 7 AM

VOTING CLOSES: Thursday, October 22 at 7 AM

You can vote on the ABC7 TikTok page . You will need a TikTok account in order to vote. Each school visit will be pinned to the top of the ABC7 TikTok page , so fans can easily vote for their favorite. Vote by liking the Jones video (video #5). Share with your families and friends!

The winning school will receive the Friday Flyover trophy during a LIVE reveal on ABC7's morning show on Friday, October 23!

For the first time ever, the Jones Homecoming Dance will be held off-site at Soldier Field! Help students create memories of a lifetime! We need over 150 volunteers to make Homecoming possible. Various roles are available: set-up & decorating, chaperoning & clean-up

TIME: Set-up & Decoration: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM; Chaperoning & Clean-up: 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM

Connections Can Make An Impact

One of the great strengths of Jones is our community--and that includes the incredible range of companies, organizations, and industries our families are connected to.

We'd love to tap into that network to help create new opportunities for Jones and our students.

We've put together a quick Corporate Connections Survey to learn a little more about where our families work and identify potential partnerships--from sponsorships and in-kind donations to employee giving, volunteering, internships, mentorship, and other student opportunities.

And don't worry--we're not asking you to solicit your employer or make a financial commitment! We're simply hoping you can help us make connections. Sometimes knowing the right person to contact--or even the right department--is all we need to get started.

Your Support Makes The Jones Experience Stronger For Every Student

Through generous donations to Friends of Jones, we're able to invest directly in the people, programs, and experiences that make our Jones community special. Your support helps fund grants for students, teachers, staff, and clubs , while also making meaningful programming, events, and opportunities possible.

Why Your Support Matters

This year, Jones is facing tighter budgets which means less funding for all the things that make Jones the amazing high school it is.

9 staff positions lost
$62,000 reduction in flexible funding
46% drop in Out-of-School Time funding --The budget that keeps the building open and staffed after school, allowing students to participate in sports, clubs, theater, music, and other activities beyond the regular school day.

The Request

This year's Flying Eagles Annual Fund goal is $400,000 , and we need our Jones community behind us to reach it. We believe we can get there with your help and are asking families to please contribute $350 to the Flying Eagles Annual Fund.

We are asking our Jones community to help us reach our $400,00 goal by December 31st, 2026 , so Friends of Jones can plan ahead and provide critical support where it is needed most throughout the remainder of the school year. As a special thank you, donors who give $350 or more will receive an exclusive Jones College Prep tumbler (tumblers will be distributed in Jan 2027, after the Annual Fund campaign ends).

How To Participate

Your donation to the Friends of Jones Flying Eagles Annual Fund is 100% tax-deductible and can be made in these easy ways:

DONATE VIA CREDIT CARD : both one-time and recurring (monthly, quarterly, annually) donation options are available. While our goal is for each Jones family to donate $350, this can be done as a one-time donation, or broken down into a recurring donation of just $30/month.
SEND A CHECK: mail checks payable to Friends of Jones , along with a Donation Form , to: Jones College Prep, ATTN: Annual Fund, 700 South State Street, Chicago, IL 60605
DONATE SECURITIES, STOCKS OR VIA A CHARITABLE GIVING FUND: You may donate to Friends of Jones from your Charitable Giving Fund by contacting the fund and asking to designate FOJ as a donation recipient or log in to your Giving Account and enter FOJ (Tax ID #36-4417670). If you would like to donate stocks or securities, please contact treasurer@friendsofjones.org for more information.

Responsibilities are simple:

Pick a date
Pick a location in your neighborhood for the Neighborhood Meet-Up
Tell FOJ you volunteer to lead a Neighborhood Meet-Up with date and location details
Show up and meet other interesting Jones parents/guardians in your neighborhood!

*All Neighborhood Meet-Ups are Pay Your Own Way.
